Area Covered
Following a move from Hertfordshire in March 2008, Cathy is now based in Christchurch on the South Coast and covers all of Dorset and West Hampshire and further on occasions.

Education and Training
Cathy attended Art School, studying Fine Art and then Fashion. Her early career was in Fashion Retail Management and then Training. This background has given Cathy extensive experience in Customer Service and taught her the importance of high standards and meeting deadlines.

Always an avid gardener and having maintained a commercial interest in painting and drawing, Cathy decided to change  her career path and studied Plants, Planting Design and Garden Design on a part-time basis at London’s Capel Manor College. She was “Student of The Year” on her Garden Design Course. Finally, she “gave up the day job” to devote all her time to offering a Garden Design Service to customers in Hertfordshire.

Experience
Cathy has been a professional garden designer for over 4 years. Projects have ranged from the replanting of 1 or 2 small garden beds to the redesign of gardens of over an acre in size, managing larger projects and co-ordinating the various contractors concerned.

She has worked on a voluntary basis with Stevenage’s Britain in Bloom and designed a large contemporary garden bed for a school in the town.

Cathy’s work has included designing planters, and creating planting arrangements for modern deck gardens as well as more traditional styles of layout.
